I completed my undergrad at Mac and when determining where I wanted to complete my OT Masters, staying in Hamilton was my first choice. I love the city and all the possibilities for entertainment: Hess village, Limeridge mall, various restaurants etc. For me, time spent outside of the classroom is just as important as time spent in the classroom.

McMaster is the perfect size. It is big enough that there are lots of people to meet and things to do, but small enough that you are not just a number in a crowd and you see the same people every day. All of my professors have helped connect me to professionals in the field. They are always willing to meet with me and answer any of my questions. Being able to ask them any questions not only helps me now, but will help me when I start to work as an Occupational Therapist.

Although I enjoyed my undergraduate experience elsewhere, McMaster has provided a diverse, welcoming atmosphere within the Occupational Therapy program. The staff are non-judgmental and excited about helping us learn. The many supports such as second year buddies, student advisors, and tutorial leaders provide the answers I need as I learn. The self-direction isn't as intimidating as it might sounds, but allows me to pursue learning goals in areas where I am interested or have little previous knowledge. Using PBL also has allowed me to put all those expensive textbooks I bought in undergrad to good use.
